Hello Darlings! It is officially travel season. Most of you already have your bags packed and your flights booked. Either way, I thought I would share this fun list of my travel “Must Haves’. I got the idea from receiving lots of DMs with questions on what I pack or travel with, during my time living in Europe. While we were stationed in Germany, I had the pleasure of tagging along on a lot of my husband’s work trips. We also flew back and fourth to the United States and back to Europe, so I do consider myself a somewhat seasoned traveler.

Whether it’s a weekend trip to Paris, RV Glamping, or going on a 10 day trip to Greece, I put together my list of “Must Haves”. Enjoy!

I want to start by introducing to you a bag that I CANNOT travel without. This bag is definitely at the top of my list. ‘The Weekender’ bag in black by Beís has been one of the best purchases I’ve made. The bottom of the bag has a zip up compartment perfect for shoes, toiletries or hair tools. It’s the perfect carry on bag, and has a pass through trolley, so you can pair it with a small carry on roller suitcase.

Speaking of roller suitcases, my second favorite travel bag would be this The Bigger Carry-On by AWAY luggage. I have the black version of this, however what I love most about it, is its a TSA approved carry on that is slightly bigger than most standard carry on luggage. This bag fits overhead on most US airlines and comes with a laundry bag. I do want to note, I have the older version of this bag that had a built in charging bank (genius) but unfortunately they no longer make the suitcases with built in charging banks. I this this is still a fabulous choice. More than anything, a durable suitcase that has kept its wheels in tip top shape even after many trips over cobblestone streets in Europe.

Let’s talk toiletry bags- I’ve tried everything from small organizers to ziplock bags (yes, I said what I said) but by far, this one is my favorite for organizing all my toiletries including my makeup that I travel with. The BAGSMART Toiletry Bag has a hook for hanging, is water resistant and has 4 different compartments to pack and organize your toiletries. This bag was originally gifted to me, and has continuously lasted years without wearing down. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Hair Tools- The irony is I found this travel system AFTER I had just done a ton of travel throughout Europe. I’m not the biggest fan of taking my nice and expensive hair tools to travel with me, and risk them being lost or stolen. My biggest hurdle is also trying to make the decision on what to pack, if I only have limited space for a trip. Most hair tools are heavy and add unnecessary weight, when every ounce counts! You should not have to limit yourself, which is why I’m highly recommending this travel system 3 in 1 Wand Set by WAVYTALK. The wand contains interchangeable pieces that attach- a thermal brush for smooth blowouts, a straightener and a curling iron. The wand set is also dual voltage, which is great if you are traveling out of the country.

Another hair tool I must travel with is a blow dryer that comes with the compatible diffuser and concentrator for blowouts. As I mentioned before, I have an everyday blow dryer that I love but it’s heavy and I’d rather take something lightweight and foldable. I cannot tell you how many blow dryers I researched and ordered, only to realize most did not come with a compatible diffuser. I like to wear my hair curly on vacation, and it gives my hair a rest from everyday styling. This Conair Worldwide Folding Handle Hair Dryer is my top pick and only weighs 16 ounces. Not to mention its also is dual voltage and contains an indicator light to tell you which voltage its operating on.

I’ve come to learn there’s a lot of things that add to the theme of feeling well rested on vacation. I used to pack whatever old ratty pajamas I had. This past year I’ve slowly replaced my old pajamas with new ones. I LOVE these pajamas, and they’re reasonably priced and come in so many different patterns and colors. I found these Serenedelicacy Women’s Satin Pajama Set 2-Piece PJs on Amazon and own them in various colors.

I’m assuming I’m not the only one who feels the need to constantly charge my phone or devices during travel. Especially if you have kids! Sometimes that pitstop in the hotel room isn’t fast enough to get a full charge from a wall plug. This INIU Travel Power Bank is fast charging and 40% smaller and lighter than most charging banks, which means you can fit it in your purse. This power bank is airline safe and TSA compliant, and can charge 3 devices at a time. This Travel Power Bank also has over 80k+ 4.5 star reviews on Amazon.

Speaking of devices, I wanted to share the tablet I personally own and use all the time. The Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet (newest model), 8” was designed for portable entertainment. The latest model also boasts of 50% more RAM than the 2022 release, along with longer battery life (13 hours of reading) and a lighter design. I made the switch from an iPad to the Amazon Fire Tablet several years ago with no regrets.

I’m a hydration freak and there’s never a time when I’m not with a water bottle or tumbler- I never leave the house without water! I initially found this spill proof tumbler 3 years ago, before getting on a long flight back to Germany. I like to have my own water bottle with me that I can refill, however most tumblers spill if they fall over or even worse, spill in your bag! (I’ve had this happen too many times to me). I finally learned my lesson. This Halo 32 oz Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Tumbler by REDUCE is SPILL PROOF- I swear by it! The handle pops up, so you can carry it around, and it has become my everyday water tumbler as it also fits in a cup holder. Check out all the fun colors too! I just ordered another one in the color Daiquiri.

I’m not a baby, but I can tell you this stroller fan made for babies and toddlers have saved me from so many uncomfortably hot situations. This mini fan was actually something I owned when my youngest son was an infant. Once he no longer needed it, I decided to use it and fell in love with it. I can’t tell you how many HOT hotel rooms I’ve stayed at in Europe where you can’t control the air conditioning or there is no air conditioning at all. Hot trains, airplanes, hot taxi or uber car rides, etc. You laugh, but trust me when I say I’ve used it in all these exact situations. The AMACOOL Battery Operated Rechargeable Stroller Fan is a must and can charge with a small USB cord.

Not exciting but definitely needed if traveling abroad. These European Travel Power Converter Adapter Plugs are a must if you are traveling abroad to Europe. I owned these exact ones by TESSAN around my house in Germany to convert any dual voltage electronics.

Packing cubes! Stay organized with this 9 piece set by Veken found on Amazon. I like to have my shoes separated from my clothes and the packing cubes help to keep your items clean and organized. These packing cubes are also compress to help save space.

Last but not least, can we do better with our airport and travel outfits? I understand people want to be comfortable, but we can do better than leggings and a sweatshirt or pajamas. Yes- I have a few designated travel outfits and this dress is one of them. It’s simple and you can still be comfortable without looking like you rolled out of bed (this is called unapologetically glam for a reason, not unapologetically sloppy haha. I usually wear it with tennis shoes and a sweater or cardigan I can throw over if it gets cold. This dress is my actual go to for my long haul international flights. If you want to elevate your style on vacation, start with a better travel outfit. This dress by ANRABESS is easy and has pockets.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s post on my travel must haves.

Cheers and Happy Travels!
